Buynet was established in 2001 to provide buyers with support in the selection of products, services and suppliers. Prior to 2001 a number of Buynet's consultants were involved in supply chain projects in the construction sector, notably with the West London Construction Network, which was supported by BAA and a number of Local Authorities. In this network our consultants developed methodologies to enhance supplier selection through the use of supplier lists, and helped suppliers to gain contracts by adapting their practices to meet the criteria required by buyers.

Our consultants were also active in establishing a number of “Meet the Buyer” forums, where buyers and suppliers could meet to enhance purchasing and supply opportunities.

When Buynet was established support was initially provided in the form of ‘traditional’ supply chain consultancy; however we recognised that a more objective approach to the buying process would yield better results for our clients. In order to provide this objectivity we produced an analytical tool to allow us to compare supplier offers on a like-for-like basis.

The Buynet tool has been developed and refined over a period of 4 years and has experience in the following sectors:

  • Construction
  • Utilities
  • Mail & Parcels
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Chemicals
  • Publishing
  • Food
  • Information Services
  • Retail
  • Education
  • Financial Services
  • Manufacturing
  • Leisure
  • Not for Profit

Buynet is a ‘virtual’ company and can deploy resources as and when clients require. We work on a national and international level.
