Buynet began to develop an analytical tool to allow buyers to compare supplier
offers on a like-for-like basis. In
essence the tool breaks down supplier proposals into their smallest component
parts and then builds a picture of the components needed to fulfil each buyer’s’
needs. The specific
advantages and disadvantages of each offer are presented in a simple matrix and
the elusive all-inclusive cost is always identified, which enables
buyers to select the products, services and suppliers best suited to meet their needs.
